Case Study: The Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub

At the Blacktown Exercise Sports and Technology Hub (BEST), the client’s choice of our bespoke Enterprise system was both strategic and innovative.

The analysis track features a complex curved tunnel. Therefore, our team proposed a system for its shallow panels, which facilitated face-fixing and concealed fixings within panel recesses. This choice preserved the design intent and ensured a streamlined installation with a visually pleasing result.

The objectives for the system were twofold: providing acoustic performance and delivering an aesthetic finish to the tunnel.

To address the need for regular maintenance by incorporating several concealed access panels. Furthermore, we designed custom light housings between rows of panels to integrate with the system, conceal the structure, and support services, showcasing the system’s versatility.

Installed in the 60-metre analysis running track, the Enterprise system adapted to unique architectural demands. One challenge was designing access panels that could open fully without being noticeable. To overcome this, our team provided custom solutions and on-site support to ensure the system met the project’s requirements.

The decision to choose our solution was multifaceted.

We delivered quality materials on time and provided comprehensive design support. Consequently, our commitment to both product quality and service effectively met the client’s needs.

Beyond its technical achievements, the project is notable for its vibrant colours and its role as a leading centre for sports medicine, education, and recovery. Blacktown City Mayor Tony Bleasdale OAM and Olympic champion Cathy Freeman OAM officially opened BEST on November 19, 2023, marking a significant milestone in advancing sports and technology integration.
